Now Isn't This Ironic? Alanis Morrisette Doing Bubblegum Pop!

When you hear the name Alanis Morissette, who do you think of ? The angsty, shrill alternative artist that gave us classic 90s hits like "Ironic", "Hand In My Pocket", "You Oughta Know" and "Thank U"? Maybe you remember from her Nickelodeon days from You Can't Do That On Television? But you probably never thought of her as the next Robin Sparkles, singing bubblegum pop on her original debut album! That's right people, thanks to the glory of the internet and YouTube, Alanis Morissette's little pop skeleton just exploded out of the closet, all in it's teased-hair glory.

While it may damn near implode your mind that Alanis was about to become the next Carly Rae Jepsen, you have to consider that a lot of child actresses (and sometimes actors, but that's rarely the case) became music artists. Just look at Janet Jackson and Kylie Minogue, two of the most successful television stars to have incredibly successful music careers. Alanis Morissette really wasn't exception to that rule, and it seemed like her career was about to follow in similar footsteps. Luckily, she decided to go in a different path musically and offer something angrier and more relate-able than bubblegum pop. But man, could you imagine if things turned out differently? Check out these unearthed classics below, the first of what is so hilarious, you would think it was something from 30 Rock:

Here's a pallate cleanser if this was a little too sweet for your taste:
